Where do the ashes go?
The secret ash chamber is concealed at the base of the urn. The small opening is at the top of the urn. This can be locked and unlocked with a small decorative silver pendant which is provided. The pendant can be worn on a necklace or bracelet giving you a physical connection to the urn, (continuing the bond). Once the urn is sealed a navy velour insert, which is provided, is placed on top. This can be either stuck down using the adhesive backing or just placed on top depending on if you wish to re-open the ash chamber.
What if we don't have the ashes? If you don't have the ashes (for example if there was a burial rather than a cremation) you can still use The Candle Urn as a beautiful keepsake box. The secret chamber in the metal base urn can be used for the safekeeping of small personal items such as a lock of hair, jewellery, or notes.

The finishing touch
Finally, a lid plate completes the look. We engrave the urn in our studio in West Sussex, so your wording remains completely private. The Candle Urn can also be used as a trinket box which can be a lovely option if you do not wish to use the candle option all the time. By simply taking the candle off and placing the metal lid plate on top you can quickly create the trinket option.
